Day 00 (Sept 29) | Arrive in Bali (-/-/-)
Om Swastiastu! Welcome to Bali. On arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, check-in to your hotel near the airport. The rest of the day is free to relax. You can opt to go out shopping or just stroll in the streets. (Not part of the package)
Day 01 (Sept 30) | Ubud (-/-/-)
Today, we head to Ubud, the artistic and cultural heart of Bali. The charming Julia Roberts starrer “EAT PRAY LOVE” popular Ubud, is surrounded by lush rice paddies and steep ravines setting the stage for breathtaking scenery.
Famous for its historical temples, yoga retreats and cultural classes, art galleries, day trips and more, Ubud, is the right-choice to begin our 7-day sojourn in Bali.
Much of the charm of Ubud lies in the beauty of the surrounding countryside and the unspoiled local villages which are well worth exploring on foot. Wander around the market or get up close with the long tailed macaques’ monkeys at the monkey forest. Hike through the green rice fields, visit the magnificent temples & museums around the town and watch a traditional Balinese dance show by the palace.
If you’re a foodie, try the smoothies, vegan or simply try some street food. Known as one of the top places in Bali to experience and appreciate Balinese culture, Ubud has a more traditional, vibrant and laid-back nightlife than the fancier and more hard-partying places in the south.
When it comes to deciding what to do at night in Ubud, you will be selecting from a number of friendly bars and pubs where you can experience excellent live music. Spend you evenings as you feel like! If these fail to interest you, get a spa done.
Day 02 (Oct 01) | Ubud & Around (B/-/-)
Go all out on today’s full day experience. Today, we visit two impressive waterfalls that are sure to take your breath away! They are unique for its lush green surroundings and heavy water flow, perfect for swimming and enjoying the fresh water. We then spend our time wandering around the famous rice terraces of Ubud, the area’s most well known and frequently photographed.
We also visit a temple famous for its natural spring water which is frequented by the locals for a cleansing ritual bathing.
Have you ever heard of Luwak coffee, Indonesia’s world famous coffee? Learn about the unusual method of producing the coffee at a local coffee plantation, which involves the coffee berries being eaten and defecated by Asian palm civets, then collecting the part-digested beans from the forest floor. After sampling the other coffees and teas made at the plantation, perhaps opt to taste a Luwak coffee too.
Day 03 (Oct 02) | North Bali (B/-/-)
Another full day of exciting experiences awaits us. Today, we drive to the slopes of Mt. Batukaru, Bali’s second highest mountain where we visit a temple surrounded by verdant jungle and often shrouded in mist, the grounds house a series of tiered shrines, the most important of which is the 7-tiered structure dedicated to the God Mahadeva. We the head to Lake Beratan, one of Bedugul’s three natural lakes. Admire the views of the peaceful waters and snap photos of the 17th-century temple of Beratan located on a small island on the lake.
Continue north, turning off the main road to a small mountain road overlooking the Twin Lakes of Buyan and Tamblingan. Stop to click photos at the viewpoints and enjoy the scenery before descending to reach the waterfalls.
There are a few picture perfect waterfalls around this place that are sure to take your breath away! We drive to each one of them and yes, they require a half hour hike but it’s worth the effort. We spend time absorbing in their beauty. Forget not to carry your swimwear as the blue waters are so inviting to swim and cool down.
We end the day with a visit to the infamous sea-side Tanah Lot, a pilgrimage site and temple set dramatically on a rock in the sea before we return to Ubud for overnight stay.
Day 04 (Oct 03) | Island Day Trip (B/-/-)
Early morning, we leave to get the boat to Lembongan Island, an unexplored gem off the southeast coast of Bali, a piece of paradise with coarse white-sand beaches with silky blue waters, towering coastal cliff drops and absolutely untouched nature. It’s really surprising!!! How this little wonderland in spite of being just a stone throw away from Bali managed to elude the tourist radar. We explore the beautiful beaches of the island for the whole day. If you’re keen in snorkeling, this is the right place to do it. We conclude the day trip and take our return boat to Bali.
Day 05 (Oct 04) | East Bali (B/-/-)
Today, we set out on an exciting tour to the eastern part of Bali which is undisturbed and less-explored. We first head to one of Bali’s oldest and most highly regarded temple complexes which require hiking to reach the top via a staircase of about 1700 steps but the effort is worth as we get to see the amazing views of the surrounding countryside, volcanic mountains, and several temples. Those unwilling to take on the ascent up to the top can still enjoy the spectacular views of the temple at the foothill.
Next, we visit a former royal palace complex of gardens, fountains and ponds. You can take a dip here in the pond! We also make a visit to the unique and most impressive bat cave temple before heading to a traditional village where we witness authentic village lifestyle with endless views of the rice fields and lush greenery.
Day 06 (Oct 05) | Beach hopping (B/-/-)
It’s beach time! The lengthy coastline, breezy beaches and bright skies are inviting enough to try the water sport of your choice. Take time to relax at the beach for more fun in the sun, try a traditional Balinese massage or do some souvenir shopping. Post lunch, we drive to the illustrious temple of Uluwatu perched on the edge of a rocky cliff. Built in the 11th century, the temple provides a glimpse into the ancient life in this enchanting seaside setting.
Enjoy a stunning view of the Indian Ocean from 70 meters above sea level and spend time exploring the scenery and befriending the monkeys that inhabit the temple. Enjoy a mesmerizing Kecak Fire Dance performance during sunset. We hit the best night-club in town tonight and rock! It’s our last night together, so let’s make the most of the time before we bid goodbye tomorrow.
