On arrival at Veer Savarkar International Airport, we’ll be transferred to the hotel / home-stay in Port Blair. We relax a bit and then, we visit the Anthropological Museum which provides an insight into the world of prehistoric inhabitants of the island. From here, we head to Cellular Jail, the National Memorial. Post which, we visit Corbyn’s Cove Beach, a coconut palm fringed beach, ideal for swimming, sun-basking & bathing.
We end the day with the enthralling Sound and Light Show at Cellular Jail - where the heroic saga of the Indian freedom struggle is brought alive. Time permitting, we visit Samudrika Marine Museum.
Day 02 | North Bay & Ross Island (B/-/D)
After early breakfast, we head to the harbor to take our ferry to the Coral island – North Bay & Ross Island. North Bay known as the “Gateway of Port Blair” is famous for its coral reefs, exotic varieties of beautiful ornamental fishes and water-sports. The breath taking stretch of coral bed leaves you spell-bound. North Bay is not only famous for snorkeling & glass-bottom boat-ride, but also for scuba diving & sea walking.
Then, we head to Ross Island, the erstwhile capital of Andaman, during British and Japanese regime, prior to India’s Independence. Named after Sir Daniel Ross a marine surveyor, Ross Island is an ideal place for nature walks amidst sylvan environment with deer’s, peacocks and exotic birds.
Day 03 | Havelock Island (B/-/-)
Today, we take a 2 – 3 hours ferry ride to Havelock Island. A picture-perfect natural paradise fringed by a green canopy of the rainforest, Havelock has got some of the nicest sandy beaches with turquoise colored waters. Over the next two days, we would be exploring the island beaches, get ourselves wet and admire the serene beauty. Havelock Island is home to Radhanagar Beach (Beach No. 7) which was declared as the 4th best beach in Asia by TIME magazine in 2004.
We first visit Kalapathar Beach and spend some time enjoying the turquoise water and white sand beach. Later, move to Radhanagar Beach. A stroll to Radhanagar beach through a dense forest leads you through to the sight of white sand and crystal clear blue water. Evening is free for leisure.
Day 04 | Havelock Island (B/-/-)
Today we head to Elephant Beach, a paradise for water sport enthusiasts. Generally, this beach is visited by a 20 minute high-speed boat ride but for those who are adventurous, we can take 45 minutes trek through the jungle. Enjoy the beautiful vistas on this 1.8 km trek and reach the beach. Those interested in scuba diving, snorkeling, jet skiing, glass-bottom boat ride, banana ride, underwater sea walking, etc can give a try here. Return to our place of stay and relax.
Day 05 | Havelock Island – Neil Island (B/-/-)
We wake up late today and stroll in the beaches. Then, we take a ferry to Neil Island. Neil Island has its own unique character and natural beauty. Though being a small piece of island, this little fella sure knows how to pack a punch! Bharatpur Beach is an ideal beach for swimming and coral watching. Laxmanpur Beach is famous for its natural rock formations and a spectacular sunset.
If you’re fond of natural vegetations and limestone formations, then a visit to Sitapur Beach is sure to impress you. Let’s do some beach hopping here!
Day 06 | Neil Island – Port Blair – Chidiya Tapu (B/-/D)
Unlike most of the islands in the Andaman, Neil has a flat terrain and is ideal for cycling. Take a bicycle ride this morning and explore the village life of the tiny island. Later, we take a ferry back to Port Blair. After lunch, we take a 45 minute ride to Chidiya Tapu which is popular for its celestial sunsets.
Enjoy a mesmerizing sunset at Munda Pahar Beach and its shopping time now! Shopping buffs can head to Aberdeen Bazaar, an old-fashioned yet colorful market which offers both regular as well as exotic goods to the tourists and the locals.
Day 07 | Port Blair – Baratang Island (B/-/D)
We start at the crack of dawn to Baratang Island by road which is approximately 110 kms away from Port Blair. We pass through the Jarawa Tribal Reserve in a convoy to reach Nilambur Jetty (Middle Strait) from where we take a ferry to Baratang Island which is a 15 minutes ride. On the way, we may have the chance to see a member of the tribe! Enjoy a breathtaking ferry ride through the fascinating mangrove creeks, which leads to a dense tropical forest for a trek to reach the limestone caves. Made up of the mineral calcite (calcium carbonate), the cave contains beautiful formations.
Day 08 | Bid Adieu!!! (B/-/-)
The morning is free at leisure until transfer to Port Blair Airport for the departure flight. If your thirst for adventure is still not yet quenched, you can take an optional 2 hour submarine ride under the sea to have a glimpse of the marine life.
